Electrical Upsetting
Electrical upsetting is a well-known and established process where material is heated and simultaneously gathered along the length of a bar, be it in the middle or – more commonly – at one or two of the ends. From a preform the final shape can be achieved by closed-die forging without re-heating. In addition, certain shapes can also be finish-formed by ‘form upsetting’.
